James 1: 16-27
Interpretation
Can the Word really save you?? No of coarse not. but those who obey what it says and believe in Jesus and his teaching can. I think one of the main messages in this passage is that when we read the word and really soak up what it is saying to us and not just reading it to be a "good Christian", then our lives will reflect what we read and we will remember what it says about our lives. It also says that when we do that we will also be blessed from the father
I think that what it says here can go along with the fist few verses of James, that when we read the scripture and we are indulged in it, we will be more readily equipped for when we are faced with trials and temptations.
Application.
I think that manyof us can take a lesson from this passage. to read our bibles more often than on sunday morning in the sermons. For me this is a great way for me to get back in the word and keepgrowing and following in way the lord has set before me. I would say that when he speaks of religion, that yes i do believe Christ is the son of God who died for our sins , yet to be deeper rooted in my faith i need his word to open up things that iwould not know appart from reading his word.
im not sure this makes sense to anyone, but it does to me.

look at you! you're a blogging machine all of a sudden! good work! nice thoughts on the passage. for me it still begins at reading. maybe not reading necessarily but some way of getting knowledge of it and since it is in the medium or a book then it seem like reading is the best way to gain knowledge of it.
